Hope

Reading in Matthew 18:21-35, The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant.  Not sure why I was there, it was a few weeks back now, but in reading it, it came across how you'd expect, how could anyone be that unmerciful?

The notes in my Bible say the servant owed the King ten thousand talents and that would equate to millions of dollars.  Then freed of that debt and he immediately verbally and physically abused his own servant whose debt to him was only 100 denarii which in the notes state that is just a few dollars!!!

Have you ever been worshiping or finishing time praying and within a matter of minutes you are biting someone's head off?  I'm human so, yes. Oh & married... so - guilty.  And I drive a car.

Millions to few... the ways the Lord has forgiven, blessed, & lavished goodness... compared to the ways in which I must walk in love toward others.  That focus the very healing balm that allows me to humble into the perfect little place of peace. That breaks open a hard calloused heart and allows it to perform the sweetest act ever, free others.  It's not that the "few dollars" against us can't situationally be unthinkable, it is that the grandiosity of God obliterates the perspective.  Growing and grasping what his grace has already done for me, what it promises is coming!... what faith is working on for all who call on the great name of Jesus - not.comprehendable - there.is no one like our God... a million trillion dollar mercy that allows us the task of emulating and despite our effort, even better despite outcomes! his faithfulness endures. forever.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God!  He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Cor. 15:56-57

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.  They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!  Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Revelation 21:1-5
