Went to record baby girl and boy names this a.m. in our little journal we keep and when I did, you were right there, November 30th - happy birthday...
other thing that i'd never noticed was the whale on the cover of the journal... i usually just grab it so focused on opening to the next pg to record a name that the cover is just old news... but today when taking this pic, the blue whale just popped... Gunnar was here a month+ or so ago and brought me a pic he drew of a whale... he told me he thought I was having a boy - and by the end of the night, after jokes playing cards where he called my pregnant self a whale (only following suit after I'd said something competively not nice to him which i can't come close to remembering) we laughed and he asked, "If you do have a boy - can I call him whale?" Girl loves nicknames so of course, I said yes. Just saw him last weekend and guess what... he asked me if he still gets to call the baby whale :)
I had some time to waste a few weeks back before meeting Chad and stopped in Home Goods just to look around. Saw these pink hand towels and they just screamed you - I think you had the same shade in your bathroom. I see them now and think of you and they make me wonder at the same time if this little one inside is a girl.
We did some work in the baby's room yesterday... put together the stroller and learned it's features, bought some odds and ends, that little book shelf, pic above it, the yellow wire baskets, and the rug. Can you see the tiny figurines on what will be the changing table?
I can't remember when I bought these, I'm pretty sure it was even before you passed away. I thought they were awkwardly cute and perfect for a baby's room some day. Now that day is here and your love for Raggedy Ann and Andy found a perfect spot.
Love you, Grandma... still hold you so close
in my heart, it's as if you never left. xo
