Some Place Higher

The trek was dangerous and after miles of wondering at many points if we'd make it, I'd reached a lull that had me paralyzed with fear.  My companion had made the pass but the sharp slant of the rock below and the distance between me and it left such doubt that my feet would hold that I stood motionless.  She forged on unaware she went solo.  My eyes searched frantically for another rock, another route but no other path provided a way out.

you revive me - passion band

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  Psalm 61:2

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.  speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.

A voice of one calling:  "In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.  And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it.  For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.  Isaiah 40:1-5

When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.  What benefit did you reap at the time from the things you are now ashamed of?  Those things result in death!  But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6: 20-23
